HEd does not need to be expensive…

Standard

When I first started homeschooling, I spent soo much money on resources on books. I have learnt to use what I have at home and to look for cheaper alternatives. Here is what was bought at a local 99p shop:

A cross stick kit and a ‘make-your-own-scrapbook’ kit. DD had so much fun decorating her scrapbook. Who says home ed is expensive!

  1. Assalamu alaykum,
great finding! I love to buy my books from car boots sale or the books people. For our art and craft we use the local 99p stores and ebay. But also gumtree and freecycle. Who said homeschooling has to be expensive eh?

  2. Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

Eid Mubarak to you and your family.

I’ve been without internet for a few weeks now and its great to be back and read up on your homeschooling activities.

My son started nursery in september and am wondering it if was the right decision. In my heart I’m so desperate to homeschool, but i just don’t know if i’m the ‘type’ who could carry it out.

He’s a boy and inshaAllah will be the breadwinner of his family and i feel i don’t want to ruin his education. Alhumdulillah, we try to keep a very islamic environment at home and i just feel that school may be (to a certain extent) negating certain things, giving him mixed messages maybe…i don’t know why i’m writing all this…Please make dua i make the right decision for his deen.

Keep up the good work. you’ve got nothing to worry about inshaAllah.

  3. I know what you mean sister about always trying to find the best buys for less…I found that with a good internet connection & a printer you can teach almost everything ….thanks for sharing your finds
