Question to ALL sisters (married, unmarried, children, no children, old and young!) Might sound like a strange question but got my reason for asking 🙂  Lets say you had a book that covered quite a number of topics in it – would you prefer that the book was split into 3 smaller booklets (ie part 1, 2 and 3) or would you prefer that it was all included in one book but a larger book. Hope this makes sense lol. Need as many answers as possible. Jzk.

  1. Asalamualaikum, I would say one larger book. Mainly because I tend to misplace things and also like going back & forth jumping to different topics.

  2. السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
I would prefer it in one book bcoz it would be easier to reference it. جزاك الله خيرا for the great blog and inspiration. Maa-Shaa-Allah

I would prefer 3 smaller books; with the kids it would be easier for me to carry around and read it whilst I’m waiting for them at their madressa/activities inshaAllah. Psycologically it would appear an easier task to get a smaller book read; I sometimes don’t even start bigger books as it seems an impossible task to get it finished- always telling myself that I’ll start it when I get ‘more time’!
    Jazakillahu khayran, Wassalaam xXx

if the book is about one subject covering many topics based around the one subject i prefer one big book. However, if its different subjects all combined in one book, i prefer it split up.
I think it depends on lifestyles too, usually when a person writes something, they have a target market in mind. someone who goes out and about a lot would prefer little booklets. whereas people who dont go out much (stay at home mums, office workers etc…) they would like things to take up less space as possible, so one book would mean neat and tidy. hope that helps

  5. assalamu alaikum

i would also prefer it in smaller parts, i usually get put off by big books.also when you finish each part you feel a sense of achievement/accomplishment, whereas big one seems to last for ages.hope that helps

  6. Salaam. Definitely one book. When they split books up into smaller parts I suspect that its just to make more money, selling all the separate bits. Also the shop will usually be out of stock of one part. Very irritating.

  7. Split it as children will feel as achivement and pride when they can finish one book.with reward for the completion they will be more motivated and excited to proceed to the next level:)

  8. Assalam o Alikum,

One Book would be much better in my opinion. but really depends. if it is for the kids a series of books is more appealing as it gives them a sense of achivment when done with 1. but really depends on what kinda book it is.

  9. Depends, if the book is a teaching resource for parents I would prefer one big book. But the book is for children, the smaller parts.

    • Assalamu alikum, JazakhAllahu khairan to all the sisters who replied mashaAllah. May Allah reward you. Your responses have really helped. Alhmdulilah. x
