Life continues…

Standard

Its been almost 2 months since I last posted. Home ed is very much continuing over here but I seriously have no time to blog! 4 kids, home ed plus lots of other stuff going on really means that I am searching for minutes. I do tend to have time when I’m breastfeeding – but I normally use that time to catch up with sisters I know on whatsapp – thats about all the socialising time I get at the moment!

Currently, have just returned from Algeria. 3 of the kids are still there for an extra month. They were supposed to return in a week’s time but had to change their ticket due to some urgent family matters and the first available ticket was mid April! Am hoping that we can find an earlier date change inshaAllah.

Home ed is continuing – constant adjustments and constant evaluation on my part in how and what we do in our home ed journey.

I feel like closing the blog as I really don’t have time to blog anymore and feel its somewhat pointless to keep it open. Having it open makes me feel like I need to blog which is unnecessary pressure so might be closing it down.

We’ll see..

  1. Asalamualaikum sister,
I also had a baby myself (3rd) similar time to yours and understand a bit of what you’re going through. May Allah make it easy for you to fulfil your commitments. In terms of closing the blog, off course it’s your choice entirely, and probably wise if it’s making you feel pressurised to post BUT I’m sure many of your readers like myself do not mind that you are not posting often and understand why and can be patient until when or even if you ever post again as your posts are most beneficial mashAllah.

I just wanted to say that please don’t feel pressured to blog, I am sure that everyone who reads the blog completely understands your situation. Post whenever you are able to otherwise the previous posts act as a great resource by themselves. I pray that Allah puts much barakah in your time and makes things easier for you.

    Take care

  3. السلام عليكم ورحمة الله و بركاته . Dear sister I understand exactly what u are going through at the moment, may ALLAH grant u Barakah in your time and grant u ease and strength, AAMEEN. Regarding closing the blog due to time constraints and being under pressure, plz don’t feel u have to blog all the time, blog as and when u can bcoz we are all mothers and can understand what u are going thru and u are such an inspiration to us, ALHAMDULILLAH

  4. Assalam alaikum sis. I don’t think you should close it. Even if you no longer blog. Your old post can give inspiration to other home edders who need some ideas. I’m hoping to use your blog as inspiration even though my little one is only 5 months. Lol.

  5. Assalamu alaukum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu dear sister, Alhamdulillah I have been following your blog for a while and have gotten great insight into the life and experience of a homeschooling family. May Allah reward you all of your efforts Ameen . I agree with the sisters, pls don’t feel any pressure – we are all in very similar situations. May Allah swt give you ease in whatever choice you make about the blog Ameen. Take care my dear sister, Wassalam alaykum

  6. Assalamu alaykum sis, I totally understand what things are like for you at the moment and I agree with the other sis. Pls don’t close the blog and don’t feel pressurise that you have to blog all the time….I still come to the website every now and again for some tips. May Allah ease your affairs and put barakah in your time.

  7. Assalamu alaikum. I agree with all the sisters commented above. Please don’t close the blog even if u can’t blog anymore. I am planning to go through all your old blogs as inshallah very soon I am starting homeschool. Please make dua for me and my children as I am taking them out from school inshallah soon. May Allah let you and your family enter the janatul firdaus, ameen

  8. Assalaamu alaykum…SubhanAllah! Your blog is so inspiring – I have only recently stumbled across it as started homeschooling my 7 year old son. May Allah give you the ability to carry on – you are benefiting so many people mashAllah – perhaps it’s a form of sadaqah? May Allah reward you. I’m feeling very isolated as I don’t know ANY homeschoolers in my city – and I have so many questions to ask!!! So this is a great source of inspiration for me.
Please could you inform me of what Maths and English schemes you are using for primary age? At the moment I am using the CGP guides as a foundation of what to cover – but find myself constantly looking for worksheets/ideas etc to practise and consolidate knowledge. Is there a good ‘all-in-one’ solution out there?
How do other home educators go about with their Maths/English side of things?
I’m feeling pretty over-whelmed by it all – and constantly feel I’m not doing enough or the right thing – I have 2 other children; a daughter who is loving school and wants to stay (!) and a 14 month old baby.
InshAllah – look forward to your reply.
Please keep u the good work!
    Wa Salaam

  9. Assalamualaikum! I pray that Allah swt makes this time easy for you. Ameen. Please don’t close the blog!! The old posts are really useful for beginners like myself and I still come back to the blog for ideas

  10. Assalamu alaykum,
Great to have you back. and how wonderful you have been able to travel abroad with kids, and a baby too!!! mashaAllah, get some rest whilst kiddies are still there. I am in such a travelling mood now lol, after all these snowy/rainy weather….
I am sure we all get those moments once in awhile when we desperately want to put our thoughts into writing- just grab those moments to blog. feel no pressure :))

  11. aoa umm-raiyan…
PLEASE do not shut down your blog… it really, really helps us beginner homeschoolers learn how to do things the right way. Please post when you feel like it… but your past posts are a great resource.
    Jazakallah khair!

  12. wa alaykum us salaam,

I’m with everyone else, would love to see you keep it open. I agree that your older posts can be inspiring and helpful. I am in the same boat as you, I only blog here and there these days. I just had baby 8 on March 7, plus I am homeschooling 6 others (in virtual school). May Allah allow your other children to join you very soon. ameen.

    Umm Ibrahim
